Men over the age of 40 should ensure that their diet comprises of the following vitamins:

  • Vitamin A : The eyesight is likely to weaken after the age of 40. But men can get rid of glasses if they ensure sufficient intake of vitamin A that keeps eyes healthy and is even good for bones, hair and teeth. It is found in numerous foods like- carrot, spinach, egg, pea, papaya, milk, mango and several others.
  • Vitamin K & D : The body becomes vulnerable to loosing bone density as a person ages. Vitamin K and D are utmost important when it comes to healthy bones. Vitamin K helps in proper blood clotting and protects the bones too. It is found in green vegetables like spinach. While vitamin D is required for proper absorption of calcium that is an essential mineral present in the bones. Good sources of this vitamin are animal products like cod liver oil, salmon, tuna, mackerel and sardines.
  • Vitamin E : Men who are surrounded by pollution might be at the risk of serious diseases like heart problem, cancer and aging of skin. The body is able to fight such diseases if the diet contains vitamin E. It is found in sunflower oil, almond oil, broccoli, kiwi fruit etc.
  • Vitamin B12 : The amount of hydrochloric acid decreases after the age of 40. This weakens digestive capacity that consequently causes vitamin B12 deficiency. When the levels of this vitamin goes down in the body, the person is likely to experience memory problems, fatigue and joint pain. B12 is present in milk, eggs, meat and fish.
  • Vitamin B6 : This vitamin becomes essential for men’s health when they reach 40. It should be definitely taken to protect oneself from ailments like prostatic hyperplasia. These disorders have a negative effect on sex life. Sources of B6 are bananas, vegetables, whole grain products and nuts.
