Hing Dahi Aloo Recipe

Potatoes can be used to prepare numerous mouth watering recipes. In Indian cuisine, these vegetables are absolutely an all time favorite. There are uncountable ways one can use potatoes to prepare the best of dishes. But, the tangy curries are one of the best dishes when it comes to using potatoes as the chief ingredient. Very simple to prepare, this dish is packed with nutrients too. Just boiling the potatoes and adding some curd and spices to it, is all that is required to get this dish ready. The tasty aloo recipe can be served with rice.

Cooking Time : 15 minutes

Ingredients :

Potatoes- 6 (boiled and diced)

Methi Seeds- ½ tsp

Yogurt- 1 cup (beaten)

Dhaniya Seeds- 1tsp (crushed)

Hing- ½ tsp

Chat Masala- 1tsp

Oil- 2tbsp

Dhaniya Powder- 1tsp

Salt- as per Taste

Steps:

  • Sprinkle methi seeds, sauté and dhaniya seeds to oil in a pan and heat for a minute.
  • Cook the boiled and diced potatoes in the pan for about 3 minutes.
  • Now take yogurt in a bowl, add chat masala to it and beat this mixture.
  • To this mixture, add salt to taste, dhaniya powder and one cup of water.
  • Beat this mixture well and pour this into the pan.
  • Let it boil and then sprinkle hing on it.
  • Boil it for some more time and the dish is ready to be served.

Tip

Rather than boiling, the potatoes can also be deep fried. Then follow the same procedure to prepare the dish.
