Proper dental health helps to prevent several problems – infections, cavities, tooth decay and gum disease. The following should be incorporated in your diet to enjoy good dental health:

  • Vegetables : They are packed with nutrients that benefit the teeth. They enhance immunity and are very good for maintaining oral health.
  • Cheese & Milk : Dairy products reduce acid levels in our mouth, thus protecting the teeth from corrosive effect of acids.
  • Pycnogenol : Certain chewing gums contain this nutrient. Studies prove chewing gums that are made from pine bark or the sap prevent bleeding in gums and reduce plaque as well.
  • Soy & Arginine : Consuming soy reduces periodontal ailments. Arginine is an amino acid that modifies the pH level in mouth to prevent cavities.
  • Fish Oil : It is a good idea to take supplements if you feel that you are not getting enough nutrients from food.

  • Green Tea : It is full of antioxidants that are a blessing for oral health. This makes the teeth stronger, works against bacteria and the toxins that harm the teeth.
  • Lean Protein : Protein plays a very essential role in development of connective tissue of the teeth, maintaining structure of the teeth and also proper functioning of the teeth. Good sources are eggs, beef and chicken.
