Christmas Plum Cake recipe


Christmas is just a day away and cakes are some of the trade mark for Christmas. No Christmas celebration is complete without cake and this article is about the recipe of making plum cake within few minutes. You can try your hand on Plum cake and add other fruits and nuts which will make it delicious and tasty.

Serves: 4 people

Preparation time: 15 minutes

Cooking time: 40 minutes


1. Refined flour (Maida)- 1 cup

2. Walnuts- chopped, 2 table spoon

3. Baking powder- half table spoon

4. Raisins- 3 table spoon

5. Brown sugar- 1 cup

6. Vanilla flavor – 3-4 drops

7. Eggs- 3

8. Butter- half cup (softened)

9. Lemon zest- 1 table spoon

10. Cherries- 2 halved


  • Before starting make sure you heat the oven and generally it is preferable to make in micro-oven. Preheat the oven to 160 degree Celsius.
  • Sieve the refined flour and baking powder together and can mix it.
  • You can add wall nuts, raisins and then mix the items well and ensure those are mixed carefully.
  • In another bowl whisk the butter and brown sugar carefully. Make sure you blend it and make the mixture creamy.
  • To this mixture add vanilla flavor or essence, eggs and lemon zest and mix it carefully.
  • To this mixture slowly add the sieved flour and mix the complete preparation.
  • Now you need to pour few drops of butter on the cake tin which will keep the cake perfect. Once it is done you can pour the mixture on the cake tin.
  • Next you bake the cake for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • After baked let it cool and the Christmas cake is ready to eat.
  • You can add few slices of cherries and make the cream attractive.
